Formalities
Before arrival in Urbino (Italy)
Make sure you have a passport or identity card valid during the all period of the programme (ideally from August until October of the subsequent year). This will save you from further formalities in Italy or the partner Universities countries during your studies.
Entry visa, residence permit
Formalities for visa and residence permit are different for citizens of countries inside and outside the European Economic Area (EEA). At present the EEA includes the EU member states plus Iceland, Liechenstein and Norway.
Students from a EEA country (European Economic Area):
EEA citizens have, in principle, access to and may stay in all the other member states of the union. Thus: No visa formalities prior to departure.
Students from a country outside the EEA:
Citizens from Non-EEA Countries need a visa to enter the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and travel across EU countries (in case of traveling by bus or car or train). Certain Non-EEA citizens, however, are exempt from a visa in order to enter in Italy. Non-EEA citizens will also need a provisional residence permit. Please check with your embassy when applying for your visa on all other requested visa and documents. As soon as the letter of admission is received, the application for visa must be made, by the student to the Italian diplomatic or consular mission of the country of residence or consular mission representing Italy.
